Join an organization like no other...if you're looking for a way to make a difference while you are at school, want a bit of adventure and be part of an organization with a well defined sense of purpose - this is it.

Your time on and off campus is busy and valuable. Our station is usually very quiet and is peacefully situated just across the road from a scenic horse farm. The call volume of the SPVFC averages a little over one call a day, so there is usually abundant time to study or prepare for your next lesson. We know students are in Charlottesville to learn, so we don't put tremendous time commitments or fund raising burdens on our members. This way, students can tend to their studies and help the community. We also have high speed internet service and laundry facilities.
We are also a small station. You won't get lost in the crowd here. In fact, we propose that your participation will form strong friendships that will enrich your educational experience and energize you for a lifetime of rewarding volunteer service. Our membership currently consists of approximately 1/2 students and 1/2 local residents, and
we are actively seeking to expand our membership to include more people from the UVA and PVCC community. Thank you for your interest in our team and we look forward to your participation!  Interested in membership in the SPVFC?  Contact Assisant Chief Jack Mellott by email or telephone (434) 975-2202.
