Dry conditions and high winds led to an extremely busy day for all of Albemarle County, with Stony Point crews responding to 17 calls in one day, mostly brush fires and downed power lines.  Well done and thanks to everyone who came and helped out!

Engines 61 and 62 and Tanker 69 responded to a structure fire with entrapment on Millie Lane.  Route 20 was temporarily shut down for water supply, and the house was saved with minor damage. Units from Charlottesville, Seminole, and Monticello also responded.

Engine 61 responded to a two-alarm fatal structure fire with entrapment in Four Seasons.  Units from Seminole, Hollymead, Earlysville, and Charlottesville also responded.

December 2007
The Firefighter I test and burn were completed.
Jake Ford, Ric Sorbo, Ben Hedman, Katy Gulden, and Chuck Cao took the bridge class from Fire Attack to Firefighter I.
Horia Todor, Ryan Richardson, and Mark Hershley took the full Firefighter I class.

Engine 61 responded to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment at Gordonsville Rd and Cismont Ln, along with units from East Rivanna and Gordonsville.

Engines 61 and 62 responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle crash with heavy entrapment and landed a Pegasus helicopter at Stony Point Rd. and Burnley Station Rd.  Units from Barboursville, Hollymead, and Seminole Trail also responded.

For the second time in one day, SPVFC responded to a fully involved structure fire.  Engine 61, Engine 62, Brush 64, and Tanker 69 responded to a hay barn fire on Lonesome Mountain Rd.

Engine 61, Engine 62, and Tanker 69 responded to a fully involved structure fire on Stony Point Rd.  Crews spent many hours extinguishing the fire and performing overhaul, along with units from Seminole Trail, East Rivanna, and Barboursville.
