Could you be a volunteer?

Stony Point Recruiting
Can you fill these boots?
The Stony Point Volunteer Fire Company is composed of people just like you. Just like you, we have busy lives but we find ways to balance family, career, academic and recreational pursuits with our fire company duties. Why? There are lots of different motivations among our membership, but the bottom line is that our members don't just say they care about their neighbors - they live it. While emergency work might be very difficult at times, it is among the most rewarding and satisfying experiences that life can offer. Nothing is like being part of a team that saves lives. Nothing is like restoring order to chaos. Few organizations can offer the sense of camaraderie of a fire company. So if you are looking to join an organized team that has a well defined purpose, consider joining us.
We are always recruiting! For more information call the station at (434) 973-7733 or contact the Membership Committee.
When considering membership, please keep in mind that to be an Operational Member (Firefighter, EMT, Driver/Pump Operator), we ask that you pull one 12 hour crew shift once a week and two 24-hour shifts twice a month. This is in addition to any fire/ems training you wish to do outside of your crew duty nights.
